After a night out with friends, a 27-year-old man was recently a victim of a drunk driving accident. His sister is in the process of raising funds to cover his medical expenses. At the time of the drunk driving crash, the other driver was not insured in Wisconsin. Tragically, the man has died as a result of this car accident.
According to authorities, the accident occurred at around 9 p.m. The man was driving a motorcycle with a passenger and was waiting at an intersection. His 22-year-old friend, that was driving a jeep, allegedly slammed into the rear of the motorcycle. The passenger suffered critical injuries, but the man was later pronounced dead at the hospital. His organs have been donated to help save other lives.
Authorities discovered that the man’s friend was driving while intoxicated and placed him under arrest. The man’s sister has described him as a generous person who loved to help other people. She is in hopes that drunk driving will come to a stop so that other families do not have to go through the emotional turmoil that her family had encountered. The other driver has been charged with injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle and homicide.
The Wisconsin man leaves behind a son, wife and loving family. The man’s sister plans on using funds covered by the other driver’s auto insurance to finance her nephew’s college expenses in the future. At the time of the car accident, the other driver did not have insurance. The family of the man retains the right to file a wrongful death claim against the other driver to cover medical expenses incurred at the hospital, funeral expenses and other financial burdens associated with the accident.
