Many people find a motorcycle to be a practical way to seek a thrill. Unfortunately, because of the size, one can often become involved in a car accident. Other than a helmet, there are essentially no physical barriers to protect motorcyclists when struck by a more traditional motor vehicle. One motorcyclist is recovering from serious injuries suffered after apparently being struck by a car in Wisconsin.
According to the police reports, the accident occurred just after 9 p.m. one night in late June. The 37-year-old motorcyclist was said to be southbound on a Wisconsin highway. Police claim that a car driven by a 27-year-old woman was headed north. The woman allegedly attempted to make a left turn in front of the motorcycle.
The injuries the man suffered have been described as life-threatening. Fortunately, recent reports indicate that the man is expected to live. While police do not suspect drugs or alcohol and no citations have been issued, the accident likely remains under investigation.
The motorcyclist involved in this car accident is likely lucky to be alive. However, he may need extensive medical care to help him fully recover from the injuries he suffered. Many people who have been injured in such an accident have been unable to return to work in the same capacity, resulting in lost wages in addition to the financial complications created by medical bills. As a result, some have turned to a Wisconsin civil court for relief. In some cases where negligence was the proven cause of an accident, victims have been awarded damages to help with the financial ramifications.
