Wisconsin car accident involving tractor-trailer injures 5

Some drivers are willing to take risks while using Wisconsin roadways by failing to obey traffic signals and speed limits. While most obey all traffic laws and drive defensively, safe drivers and others are still in danger from the negligent acts of others. Police are currently working to investigate a recent car accident involving a tractor-trailer that sent five members of a family to the hospital.

Reports indicate that the accident happened just before 11 a.m. one morning in late July. According to reports, a 48-year-old man was driving a pickup truck that was towing a trailer. The man’s wife and four children were also in the vehicle. Their trailer was allegedly rear ended by a semi-truck driven by a 35-year-old man.

The collision caused the trailer and pickup truck to overturn. The wife of the pickup driver as well as his four children were transported to the hospital for treatment. One of the children, a 13-year-old, was transported by helicopter. The accident, which resulted in the closure of the northbound lanes of the interstate for several hours, is still being investigated.

Unfortunately, an accident such as this can cause serious financial harm to a family. The toll of medical expenses and lost wages is often more than many families can successfully cope. As a result, many who are injured in a car accident in Wisconsin caused by another’s negligence often seek recompense in a civil court. A successfully presented case can allow victims to focus on their recovery rather than how they will cope with the financial fallout.
