Car accident involving 4 vehicles injures 9 in Wisconsin

Motorists on Highway 23 in Wisconsin might have experienced delays on a recent Sunday evening while an accident investigation was underway. According to Font du Lac police, the highway remained closed for approximately two hours. This followed a multi-car accident that occurred near Whispering Springs.

A preliminary crash report indicates that the driver of a westbound SUV reduced speed for an intended left turn into a driveway. As the SUV was turning, a pickup truck that was behind it also slowed down while maneuvering around it. However, an approaching westbound big rig driver failed to notice what was happening ahead and smashed into the rear of the pickup truck.

The impact pushed the pickup into the SUV, propelling it into the eastbound traffic lanes. A collision with an oncoming minivan followed. Authorities say nine people suffered injuries of varying severity. They added that one person’s injuries were life-threatening, and although that accident victim needed to be airlifted, inclement weather conditions made it impossible. Road transport was used to rush the victims to a hospital.

Injured victims of a car accident in Wisconsin may be entitled to pursue claims for financial relief. In this case, they can bring personal injury claims in a civil court, but the plaintiffs will have to establish negligence on the part of the tractor-trailer driver. This process can be smoothed with the support and guidance of an experienced personal injury attorney. A lawyer can launch an independent accident investigation and use that information to present a claim to the court for recovery of documented financial and emotional damages.
