Two-car accident in Sharon leaves leads to injuries

A recent two-car accident resulted in injuries in Sharon Township. According to police officials, a 39-year-old man from Darien was driving down U.S. Highway 14, south of County Highway K, at about 8:30 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle. A news report details that snow may have played a factor in the car accident.

Reports suggest the man was heading south on the highway when he lost control, crossed into the northbound lane, and collided with a pickup truck driven by a 52-year-old man from Eau Claire. The man was apparently pulling a tandem-axle trailer behind his pickup truck when the accident occurred.

According to a news report, both drivers were injured, though the Eau Claire man's injuries were not disclosed to the media. The driver that lost control of his vehicle was taken to a Rockford-area hospital by helicopter. Police did not report the status of his injuries.

Rescue squads from Sharon and nearby Darien and Delavan responded to the crash, which closed a section of the highway during the morning hours. The Walworth County Sheriff's Office is investigating the cause of the crash.

If as a result of the police inquiry or an independent investigation one or more parties are determined to be at fault, liability for the injuries related to the car accident may be incurred. Any claims for personal injuries could seek payments for medical costs and related expenses, as well as the cost of recovery. Additionally, lost wages could also be part of a successful personal injury claim, as well as damages for any pain and suffering related to the incident.
