A recent car accident has ended the life of a 51-year-old woman from Vilas County, Wisconsin. Early reports indicate that the woman died in an accident that took place on a recent Saturday afternoon in Greenfield. It is believed that the woman was driving with two teenage passengers at the time of the car accident, one of whom was her son. Both were also injured, and were rushed to an area hospital where they were listed in critical condition.
As the woman and the two teens were travelling northbound on 27th Street, their vehicle was struck by a pickup truck driven by a 70-year-old woman. That driver also sustained injuries in the crash. She was treated at a local hospital but for non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation into this crash is still ongoing. Police have not stated that alcohol or speed were factors in the crash. However, as the authorities continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the accident, more details may be released that could explain how the accident occurred.
This family is likely still attempting to come to terms with what has happened. The loss of a loved one is a difficult thing to manage, especially when a child is also still in critical medical condition. In the coming weeks, this family will likely look to the authorities for answers in this matter. Should the Wisconsin police investigation reveal that another party is responsible for this tragic crash, the family of the deceased and the surviving victim may elect to move forward with a civil suit. Such an action could never bring back a lost loved one, but it could help the family overcome some of the financial difficulties brought on by this car accident.
