Wisconsin car accident leaves 1 dead, 1 injured

A recent car crash in Green Lake County, Wisconsin has left one woman dead and a man seriously injured. With few details made available by police, both families are likely struggling to understand how the car accident took place and which party may be at fault. The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the wreck, and the results of that investigation may help the families determine their next steps in the matter.

Upon early reports, it appears that the driver of a Hyundai SUV, a 71-year-old Green Lake resident, entered Highway 23 from a driveway. At that time, her vehicle was struck by a Ford truck driven by a 38-year-old male. The crash took place just after 7 a.m. on a Monday morning.

The elderly woman died as a result of injuries sustained during the crash. The driver of the Ford was airlifted to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment. There is no word on the severity of his injuries or his current condition.

The results of the Wisconsin police investigation into this car accident could provide answers to the families who are dealing with the aftermath of this incident. Should it be determined that the truck driver did not exert proper caution when he struck the SUV, the woman’s surviving family members could pursue a wrongful death suit against him. On the other hand, if it is determined that the woman was negligent in not checking for oncoming traffic before entering the roadway, the surviving victim could pursue her estate in a personal injury lawsuit.
