Traveling at any time, day or night, provides numerous obstacles for drivers to avoid. Driving during times of the day that are known to involve a heavier flow of traffic adds to those obstacles and can make it more dangerous for drivers who are unaware of their surroundings. Recently, a driver who was seemingly caught unprepared during the midday commute was said to be the cause of a multi-vehicle car accident on a Wisconsin roadway.
The accident required support from numerous safety officials. According to statements from the scene, the accident occurred around 2:30 p.m., when the driver of an SUV failed to stop for a pickup truck preparing to make a left turn. As a result, the woman driving the SUV slammed into the rear end of the pickup, which was then pushed across the lanes and into oncoming traffic.
The two vehicles, which were in the westbound lanes, crossed both sides of the roadway. Adding to the wreckage, the pickup was then struck head-on by an eastbound vehicle. All three drivers were injured in the accident, two of which were in critical condition.
The driver in the eastbound lanes died in the collision, and the pickup driver was airlifted to the nearest medical facility, where her condition remains unknown. As for the woman who initially rear-ended the pickup, she was treated at the scene for minor injuries. As the injured victim and the family of the deceased prepare for the unknown future, they may elect to seek compensation for monetary damages suffered as a result of the car accident. For these individuals, and all Wisconsin residents who have been injured or had a family member killed in an accident, and compensation awarded from a successfully presented claim may help with medical cost, funeral expenses and other financial losses associated with the car accident.
